forgiveness
/ ˌfərˈɡivnəs/
noun
the action or process of forgiving or being forgiven.

the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, lets go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an increased ability to wish the offender well.

forgive
/fərˈɡiv/
verb
stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake.

क्षमा kSamA  or Kshyama

Start forgiving yourself and others. We’ve all been hurt by our own decisions and by others. And while the pain of these experiences is normal, sometimes it lingers for too long. We relive the pain over and over and have a hard time letting go. Forgiveness is the remedy. It doesn’t mean you’re erasing the past, or forgetting what happened. It means you’re letting go of the resentment and pain, and instead choosing to learn from the incident and move on with your life.

Angel Card Jan 13, 2015 - Patience

patience

/ ˈpāSHəns/
noun
the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

परिषहा  pariksaha

Patience, in Hindu philosophy, is the cheerful endurance of trying conditions and the consequence of one's action and deeds (karma). It is also the capacity to wait, endure opposites - such as pain and pleasure, cold and heat, sorrows and joys - calmly, without anxiety, and without a desire to seek revenge

Joseph Brodsky on how to deal with critics in your life

What your foes do derives its significance or consequence from the way you react.

Therefore, rush through or past them as though they were yellow and not red lights.

Don’t linger on them mentally or verbally; don’t pride yourself on forgiving or forgetting them — worse come to worse, do the forgetting first.

This way you’ll spare your brain cells a lot of useless agitation; this way, perhaps, you may even save those pigheads from themselves, since the prospect of being forgotten is shorter than that of being forgiven. So flip the channel: you can’t put this network out of circulation, but at least you can reduce its ratings.

Now, this solution is not likely to please angels, but, then again, it’s bound to hurt demons, and for the moment that’s all that really matters.”

Angel Card Jan 12, 2015 - Risk

risk
/risk/

noun
a situation involving exposure to danger

the possibility that something bad or unpleasant (such as an injury or a loss) will happen

verb
to expose to hazard or danger

संशय   saMzaya

Taking a risk, for me, is putting myself out there. Each time I open myself there is a danger that I won’t like what I hear, that the other person won’t accept, that I may get hurt emotionally, physically, spiritually.  Each time we do something that has a risk of something unpleasant happening it also has the possibility of something good happening. I put myself out there because the possibility of the good far outweighs the risk.

flexibility

/ˌfleksəˈbilədē/
noun
the quality of bending easy without breaking

adjective
willing to change or try different things

capable of being bent

वङ्क्य    vaGkya
In the physical asana yoga practice many people put emphasis on being flexible and often use the lack of it  as a reason why they cannot do the practice. Being flexible isn't a quality of just the  body, it is also of the mind: willing to try different things. If we are open in the mind then we can also find the opening in the body
We will discover the nature of our particular genius
when we stop trying to conform to our own or
other people’s models, learn to be ourselves,
and allow our natural channel to open

Angel Card Jan 7, 2015 - "blank"

 _____________
aka "the blank card"

One of the reasons I pull an angel card each morning is to give me something to focus on, to leave my intention for the day up to the universe instead of me constructing what it should be.  In the past anytime I have received the blank card I have been a little put-off, upset and sometimes even put it back in the bowl and selected another.
Today I see the card as an empty canvas that will changed through out the day. It morphed into whatever I needed at that moment - patience, strength, compassion.

Life will always have fluctuations - how we deal with them, how we whether the storm is dependent on how we connect to ourself. Our practices are tools to help us find that steadiness, to connect to our center, to a place where feel at ease, at peace even when there are challenges, frustrations or excitements.
